Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton sophomore pole vaulter Nathan Skankey (Murrieta. CA) was honored Tuesday as the male field athlete of the week by the Big West Conference.

Skankey cleared a personal best 16 feet, 2 3/4 inches at the Claremont Classic on Saturday. The mark is the second best this outdoor season by a Big West Conference athlete.

Skankey is a transfer from the University of Utah and will join his teammates this weekend in Northridge for the Big West Conference Championships Friday and Saturday.
