Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton junior high jumper Johnathan Golden has been selected the Big West Conference Field Athlete of the Week.

The product of Azusa High School cleared 6 feet, 11 3/4 inches to win his event in the CSU Challenge at Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday, the opening meet of the outdoor season.

The other winners were long jumper Jackie Lewis of UC Riverside as female field athlete of the week and the track athletes of the week were Ugo Eke of UC Davis and Ryan Martin of UC Santa Barbara. Eke runs the 200, 400 and relays and Martin runs the 800 meters.
