Titans, 'Eaters Split Dual

The Cal State Fullerton men and the UC Irvine women were the winning teams Saturday night in the second annual OC Dual track and field meet between the two Orange County universities.
The Titans won the men's competition for the second year in a row, 78-68, while UCI won the women's scoring, 97-52, to match Fullerton's win in 2010.
Fullerton and UCI each won 8 men's events and the schools split the two relays. On the women's side, UCI won 16 events to 5 for Fullerton, which won both relays.
UCI had the only multiple-event winners. Matt Lahti won the discus at 150 feet, 2 inches and the hammer at 195-7. For the women, Alisha Misiata doubled In the shot put (49-10) and discus (155-0) and Madelin Leduc won the long jump (18-6 1/2) and triple jump (39-11 1/4).
Highlights for Fullerton included personal bests by more than 7 feet by both Eric Grunbaum (177-1) in the hammer and Danielle Morton (131-2) to win the javelin; a career best for Tony Crutchfield (14.88) and seasonal bests for Javon May (15.34) and Gavin Couvrey-Jacobs (15.98) in the men's 110 hurdles; seasonal bests for DeAndrae Woods (10.80) and Justin Blackmon (11.03) in the men's 100; Katie Wilson (2:14.14) and Ciara Short (2:16.43) in the women's 800; Carol Chang (12.37) and Ashley Sims (12.39) in the women's 100; and Lauren Williams (13.43) in the women's 100 hurdles.
