Stadium Record Broken

March 30, 2012

Fullerton, Calif. - Stephanie Le Fever of Triton Track broke the stadium record in the women's long jump Friday evening to highlight action in the Twilight Open at Cal State Fullerton.

Le Fever's best jump of 6.28 meters topped the March 7, 2009, effort of 6.17 by Yvette Lewis, who competed unattached.

In the men's pole vault, Yoo Suk Kim won the event at 5.50 meters before failiing three times at 5.60, which would have been the best mark in the world this year.

Host Cal State Fullerton had only a few entries in the meet. Casey Candelaria easily posted a career best with her 800 meters time of 2:14.88, good for fourth place. Celinda Manzo ran second in the 5000 meters in 19:17.40 with teammate Taylor Reyes fifth in 19:34.92. For the men, Steven Parsons was fourth in the shot put at 40 feet even. The majority of the Titan squad competes this weekend at the Cal-Neva meet in Claremont.
