Yomaira Hernandez was born on Dec. 24, 1987... her parents are Jorge Hernandez and Leticia Chavez of Los Angeles... she graduated (2006) from Buena Park High School after also attending Manual Arts High in Los Angeles and Katella High in Anaheim... competed in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters... also competed in cross country and volleyball... member of AVID, the Academy of Finance and the Magnet Program... at CSF is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Honor Society... at the 2008 Big West Conference Championships she placed seventh in the 10,000 meters and 13th in the 5,000 meters... placed 39th in the 2010 Big West Conference Cross Country Championships... in 2009 placed 11th at the BWC meet and 84th at the NCAA Regional in Eugene, Oregon... in 2008 she placed 25th at the BWC Meet... in 2007 she placed 66th at the BWC Meet... earned Spring Big West Conference All-Academic status for track and field in 2010... enjoys volunteer work, particularly teaching others about God... enjoys cooking and learning about different cultures through tasting their food and trying new foods... also hikes and swims and loves family time.
