FULLERTON, Calif. --- Junior Trevor Gorwin broke his own Cal State Fullerton school record on Thursday with a distance of 202-10 (61.82 meters) in the hammer throw at the Mt. SAC Relays hosted by El Camino College.
The Mt. SAC Relays were one of four meets the Titans competed in on Thursday.
Gorwin's previous best in the hammer throw was 201-5 at the Big West Challenge on Friday. He placed second on Thursday.
Also competing at the Mt. SAC Relays, junior Arianna Fuentes set a personal best in the 3,000 meter steeplechase clocking a time of 10:44.67 to finish in 24th.
At the Beach Pacific Coast Invite at Jack Rose Track on the campus of Long Beach State, the Cal State Fullerton women finished in ninth with 30 points and the Titan men finished 10th with 24 points.
In the 1,500 meters, Emily Taylor finished first with a time of 4:46.86, while Mia Franco set a new personal best clocking a time of 57.63 in the 400 meters to finish fourth.
Franco also set a new PR with a time 25.64 in the 200 meters.
Luis Matos tied for second in the 100 meters in a time of 10.64.
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, on the campus of Azusa Pacific, freshman Jorge Sanchez set a PR in the 3,000 meter steeplechase clocking a time of 9:37.90.
Also at Azusa Pacific, junior Jordan Agnew finished 40th with 4,077 points in the heptathlon at the CA Invitational Combined Events. Senior Ifunanya Gwacham placed 44th after totaling 3,809.
