FULLERTON --- The Cal State Fullerton outdoor track and field team produced a positive performance of first and second-place finishes as well as personal records on the second and final day of competition at the Ben Brown Invitational hosted at Titan Track Complex on Saturday.
"I am very happy with the performance of our team," Cal State Fullerton track and field head coach John Elders said. "We had some very strong performances including some marks that could advance to the NCAAs. Over 1,200 athletes competed this weekend, and our student-athletes and coaches pitched in and helped out on a great meet. I am looking forward to continuing to build momentum in the coming weeks."
After setting a new Titan record on Friday, junior Trevor Gorwin placed first in the shot put with a throw of 17.72 meters – a new personal record.
In addition, junior Dwayne Lee's long jump mark of 7.26 meters bettered his mark from a week ago and also garnered a first-place finish.
Junior Anthony Applequist's mark of 15.03 meters in the triple jump also placed first in a strong season-opening performance.
