FULLERTON, Calif.—The Cal State Fullerton track and field program heads across to the country to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the 69th Annual Pepsi Florida Relays, hosted by the University of Florida this Friday through Saturday.
The Titans will send a small group of six athletes to compete in seven different events. Javon May and Bryan Luther will represent the men's side, as May will run the 400-meter hurdles and Luther will take part in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash.
May's time of 53.29 in the 400-meter hurdles last weekend at the California/ Nevada Championships currently ranks third in the Big West, while Luther's time of 10.65 in the 100-meter and his 21.61 mark in the 200-meter both rank third in the conference as well.
Representing the Fullerton women will be Ashley Sims (100-meter, 4x100-meter), Alexis Stewart (100-meter, 4x100-meter), Katie Wilson (400-meter, 200-meter, 4x100-meter) and Morgan Thompson (400-meter, 4x100-meter)
Wilson looks to improve on a time of 55.33 in the 400-meter, which currently ranks second in the conference and is good for 41st in the NCAA West Region. Sims' 11.76 mark in the 100-meter ranks third in the conference, while her time of 24.19 in the 200-meter is good for fourth in the league.
The collegiate competition will get under way at 7:00 a.m. PT on Friday and will conclude at 4:45 p.m. PT with the men's 4x400 relay on Saturday.
