Pasadena, Calif. - The Titans had their first team competition of the season on Sunday and managed only one victory in eight opportunities. In a meet at Cal Tech, the women were swept by UC Santa Barbara, Arizona State, USC and UCLA while the men were able to beat USC, 17-10.

Individually, Rachel Liebing Allen and Jon Cresante were the standouts. Allen won all 12 of her women's sabre matches while Cresante went 11-1 in men's foil. Other standouts were Shannon Friden (10-2 in women's sabre) and Christine Kuark (9-3 in women's foil). Also excelling at 8-4 were Amber Stmpf in women's sabre, Michael Hill in men's foil and Jake Jennings in men's epee.
