Paules Welcomed as Director of Development for Athletics
FULLERTON, Calif. -- Greg Paules has been appointed the Director of Development for Athletics at Cal State Fullerton, Athletics Director Jim Donovan announced Monday.
"We think Greg is a great fit for us here at Cal State Fullerton," Donovan said. "His drive and demonstrated ability to generate support via a variety of methods in a collegiate setting will be a tremendous asset to us."
Paules comes to Cal State Fullerton from UC Irvine where he has served as the Assistant Director of the Anteater Athletic Fund since 2011 and has also held the position of Special Assistant to the Athletic Director for External Relations and spent a year working with special projects since first joining the department in 2008.
In the last two years, he has focused his efforts on establishing a tradition of annual support at UC Irvine, overseeing a 20 percent growth in membership and an additional $100,000 in funds raised over the previous year. He managed the Anteater Athletic Fund Advisory Board, the Scholarship Club, and managed a portfolio of over 50 sustainable and major gift prospects.
Paules worked closely with coaches to meet team fundraising goals and organizing team-specific fundraising campaigns while also assisting with department-wise fundraising events like the Scott Brooks Golf Invitational and the Salute to Scholar-Athlete banquet while serving as the liaison between the Athletics Department and University Advancement.
As the Special Assistant to the Athletic Director for External Relations from 2009-11, Paules assisted with UCI's first department-wide apparel contract, implemented a new donor and ticketing software, and coordinated a change in the department's athletics website provider.
In 2008, he led a rebranding effort by serving as the department's brand manager, spearheading a logo redesign and assisting with a five-year strategic plan for athletics.
Paules graduated from UC Irvine in 2008 with a bachelors degree in sociology and a minor in education before earning his MBA from UCI's Paul Merage School of Business in 2009.
