Five Inductees Join Hall of Fame

Five former Cal State Fullerton athletic greats were inducted into the Titans' Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday night bringing the membership of the elite group to 18 headliners.
Before a crowd of more than 200 at the Titan Tribute banquet in the TSU Pavilion, football quarterback and baseball pitcher Damon Allen, baseball pitcher Dan Boone, softball pitcher Connie Clark, head football coach Gene Murphy and gymnast Barbara Myslak-Roetert were honored. Each received a pair of commemorative medallions, one to wear and one framed for wall display.
Each inductee was preceded to the podium by a video display from their careers. Allen was presented by Murphy, his coach from 1981 to 1984; Boone was presented by Augie Garrido, his coach in 1975 and 1976; Clark was presented by Coach Judi Garman and former teammate Michelle Gromacki; Murphy was presented by former assistant coach Steve Mariucci and Myslak-Roetert was presented by gymnastics coach Lynn Rogers. President Milton Gordon and Athletics Director Brian Quinn distributed the medallions.
The Class of 2009 was the third to be inducted. The next ceremony is scheduled for 2011.
