Atlanta, GA - Cal State Fullerton has received a pair of awards from the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics for its performances in the NCAA baseball and softball tournaments.
The highest finisher among Div. I-AAA (non-football) institutions in each NCAA sponsored sport was honored over the weekend at the NACDA convention in Atlanta.
The Titans' baseball team was the only I-AAA team to win a Regional Tournament and it went on to win a Super Regional and advance to the College World Series for the 16th time.
The Titans' softball team was one of eight I-AAA schools with Bradley, Boston University, Canisius, Cleveland State, DePaul, Long Beach State and Radford to advance to the NCAA Regionals. None of the eight schools were able to advance to the Softball Super Regional level.
CSF Director of Athletics Brian Quinn accepted the awards on his way home from the College World Series in Omaha, where he was serving as a member of the NCAA Div. I Baseball Committee.
