Fullerton, Calif. -
The forecast rainstorm which began materializing at about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in Fullerton has caused the cancellation of today's athletic exhibition in the Cal State Fullerton quad by Titan athletes in conjunction with National Student-Athlete Day.
Athletes from many of CSF's 17 intercollegiate sports were going to demonstrate their skills and interact with other students from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Still on schedule is the visit to Orangewood Children's Home in Orange on Thursday night and the appearance of former mobster-turned-author Michael Franzese at a CHAMPs/Life Skills Speaker Series on Monday night.
National Student-Athlete Day is April 6. It was founded in 1987. Its purpose is to recognize the importance of student-athletes as role models for the entire community. The goal is to celebrate the excellence achieved in academics and athletics and to recognize those parents, teachers, coaches and school systems which make it possible for young people to find the balance between academics and athletics. More information on the day is available at http://www.nsad.cc.
