SPORTS MEDIA SPECIALIST (DIRECTOR)
Responsibilities: The Sports Media Director administers the dissemination of information regarding the intercollegiate athletics program. Provides direction for staff, plan coverage, provides media relations materials, and serves as media liaison for all fifteen intercollegiate athletic teams. Represents Sports Media in developing a communications plan that will increase the visibility and brand for the Athletic Department. Works with University Strategic Communications to plan and coordinate all major press conferences and media requests for the Athletic Department. Responsible for continued development of desktop publishing’s technical capabilities and Internet publicity, including website and social media for Intercollegiate Athletics. Designs and maintains editorial and graphic content on intercollegiate athletics website using html, Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in journalism, public relations or communications, or equivalent and two to three years of related professional or technical experience. Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of communication, public affairs, and media relations theories and concepts in order to develop and execute strategies and plans to promote and position the Athletic Department and the University. Expert networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain cooperative and cordial relations with individuals and/or groups while obtaining, interpreting, and disseminating information about activities, programs, and objectives of an organization. Expert writing and editorial skills. Must possess the ability to oversee people, solve problems, and coordinate activities where direct supervision is shared. Thorough sports knowledge. Proficiency in the use of general office equipment and Windows-based personal computers. Proficiency in using administrative computing systems, MS Office applications, and other relevant software applications. A demonstrated understanding of and an adherence to Conference and NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Media Relations/Public Relations experience in a collegiate media relations office. Knowledge of sport statistics programs, preferably STAT-CREW and Automated Scorebook. Experience with Mac Desktop Publishing, preferably InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dream Weaver.

To provide athletic training services to NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic teams, including injury prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation, as well as appropriate administrative duties. Specific sport assignments will be determined. Graduate Assistants may also aid in the supervision and education of the undergraduate athletic training students. Graduate assistants must meet and maintain all graduate school requirements with regard to academic standings.
CSUF graduate school admission, NATABOC certification, Professional Rescuer CPR. Preference may be given to experienced certified athletic trainers. Note: Exceptions to the stated minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University

Men's Basketball in Search of Student Managers for Summer And 2014-15 Season
The Cal State Fullerton men's basketball program is currently looking for student managers to assist the coaching staff with the team's daily operations for the summer of 2014 as well as the 2014-15 season.
Candidates must be full-time enrolled students (12-or-more units) at Cal State Fullerton and be available to assist in daily practices, Monday-Friday, and occasional weekends. The positions are on a volunteer basis and serve as a great opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of a college basketball program. If you are first-time-freshman, you must be certified as an NCAA qualifier.
